How to use Verizon Air Card?

The Verizon AirCard is used to access Internet where even the Ethernet Internet connections and the Wi-Fi hotspots are not available. AirCards can be connected to computers through PC card slots or USB, connecting to the Internet via Verizon wireless data network and with the roaming partner networks if required.

The top tier Verizon data plan of Air Card provides only 5GB of monthly bandwidth. However, they offer fast and near-broadband download speed. Moreover, you will need to keep a check on your Air Card usage in order to avoid overuse charges.

So, here we introduce you with how to use your Verizon Air Card and obtain an Internet access. Below are mentioned some simple steps as suggested by the Verizon customer support to utilize your Air Card.

Step 1.

First of all, you need to connect the AirCard to your PC. Turn on your computer and insert the Verizon wireless AirCard in an available USB port on your computer or in the PC card slot, depending on the interface type used by the AirCard.

Step 2.

Now, install the Verizon Air-card software. If you are using Windows, then you need to wait for the contents on Air-card to display in Windows Explorer and then choose “Install VZAccess Manager”. While if you are a Mac user, then choose “VZAccess Manager” in order to install the Air-card connectivity software of Verizon.

Step 3.

Activate your device. In case your Air-card was not activated before you installed the VZAccess software, then you are required to follow the on-screen instructions and activate your device with the help of Verizon activation website.

Step 4.

Initiate the VZAccess software. You are required to do this every time you use the Verizon AirCard. The VZAccess software automatically launches by default when it is inserted in the computer which has the software already installed in it.

On Mac systems, the VZAccess icon appears in the Dock or in “Macintosh HD”, depending on your chosen settings. In Windows, the icon appears in the “Start” menu or on the desktop itself, depending on the settings you have chosen during the setup.

Step 5.

After that, connect to the Internet. Choose the Verizon wireless connection that you wish to use for the connection. Most of the Verizon Air-cards support Broadband Access and National Access for a high-speed mobile data. Further, click on the “Connect WWAN” in order to finalize your selected settings and go online with Verizon Air-card.

Step 6.

Finally, disconnect your modem by pulling off the WWAN connection from VZAccess and taking out your device from the USB port of your computer or the PC card slot. If your Verizon wireless AirCard also stores data, then eject it out by right-clicking on the “VZAccess Manager” on your Mac desktop or by clicking on the icon which says “Safely Remove Hardware” in the Windows system tray.

Thus, you can easily make use of Verizon Air-card and access Internet where Internet connections are not conveniently available. In case, you find any difficulty in using this Verizon product or other Verizon services, then call on the Verizon phone number and ask for help regarding any of your Verizon related issues.
